It was written over a period of 1500 years by almost 40 different writers. &nbsp;God inspired those writers through His Holy Spirit to perfectly record and compose the scripture, God&#8217;s word written down, without error. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew+5%3A17-18&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Matthew 5:17-18<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Tim+3%3A16&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2 Timothy 3:16<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Pet+1%3A19-21&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2 Peter 1:19-21<\/a>) God&#8217;s word is alive and able to pierce the soul and discern our hearts. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Heb+4%3A12&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hebrews 4:12<\/a>) The Bible is the standard by which everything is to be measured. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+10%3A35&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 10:35<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Creation: How did we all get here and why does it matter?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Creation is a direct result of the Creator God, not a \u201cnatural process\u201d. The full account is in the book of Genesis as it is written.&nbsp; God spoke the world and everything in it into existence (Genesis<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis+1&amp;version=KJV\"> 1<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis+2&amp;version=KJV\">2<\/a>).&nbsp; The 24 hour day existed from day 1 of Creation &nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Gen1%3A5&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genesis 1:5<\/a>). God formed the first man and woman as complete, intelligent, capable humans and we are all their descendants.&nbsp; Man was formed by God from the dust of the ground and woman was formed by God from man\u2019s rib. &nbsp; Adam\u2019s sin resulted in physical and spiritual death for humankind (Genesis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis+2&amp;version=KJV\">2 <\/a>&amp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis+3&amp;version=KJV\">3<\/a>). There was no death before Adam\u2019s sin, it is a direct result\/consequence of sin. Sin and death passed to all since we all are descendants of Adam and Eve.&nbsp; Because the payment for sin is death separated from God in Hell for eternity, humankind was doomed and without hope of being reconciled to God the Father (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+3%3A23&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 3:23<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+5%3A12-21&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 5:12-21<\/a>). Jesus, God\u2019s sinless only son, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for payment of sin for all humankind for anyone who would receive Him (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+5%3A8-9&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 5:8-9<\/a>).&nbsp; Without faith in Jesus as Savior, man is condemned to die eternally separated from God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+6%3A23&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 6:23<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who is Jesus Christ and Why do I need to know Him?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>He is one part of the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.&nbsp; He is the only Son of God. He is co-Creator with God the Father at Creation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Gen+1%3A1-2&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genesis 1:1-2<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+1%3A1-3&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 1:1-3<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Col+1%3A16-17&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colossians 1:16-17<\/a>) &nbsp;He is God the Son. He was conceived as a man by the Holy Ghost in the womb of his virgin mother Mary (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mat+1%3A18-25&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Matthew 1:18-25<\/a>) He came as the sinless sacrifice to save his people from their sins. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+1%3A26-35&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Luke 1:26-35<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+3%3A24-25&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 3:24-25<\/a>). He died, was buried, and rose again the third day.&nbsp; He showed Himself to more than 500 people in the 40 days after His resurrection before His ascension back to the Father in heaven (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+19-21&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 19-21<\/a>). He is the only Way to the Father (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+14%3A6&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 14:6<\/a>) and without Him, you are condemned to eternal separation from God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+3%3A18&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 3:18<\/a>).&nbsp; There is no salvation apart from Jesus Christ and no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+4%3A12&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Acts 4:12<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Salvation, a.k.a. being born again: why do I need it, how do I get it and how long does it last?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Scripture tells us all have sinned and need to be saved from the eternal judgment of the righteous God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+3%3A23&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 3:23<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+6%3A23&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">6:23<\/a>).&nbsp; Jesus said ye must be born again (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+3%3A3-8&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 3:3-8<\/a>) to see the Kingdom of God.&nbsp; God&#8217;s desire is that no one perishes but that all receive eternal life (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+3%3A16-18&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 3:16-18<\/a>). Therefore as God draws through His Spirit (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+6%3A44&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 6:44<\/a>), you must call out to Him in humility, confessing that your sin stands between you and God and that your only hope to be spared of God\u2019s judgment is in Jesus Christ\u2019s sinless sacrifice on the cross (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+10%3A9-13&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 10:9-13<\/a>); believing by faith that through His death and Resurrection He overcame death and the grave to offer you eternal life with God. He has promised then, to seal you with His Holy Spirit until the day of redemption (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Eph+4%3A30&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ephesians 4:30<\/a>) and to re-birth your soul by giving you His Spirit to bear witness of Him in your life (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+2%3A38&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Acts 2:38<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Eph+5%3A14-25&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ephesians 5:14-25<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+8&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 8<\/a>).&nbsp; Salvation is permanent and cannot be lost (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+5%3A24&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 5:24<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+10%3A27-30&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10:27-30<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Heb+6%3A4-6&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hebrews 6:4-6<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Heb10%3A26&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">10:26<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Holy Spirit<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After Jesus\u2019s ascension back to heaven, God sent the Holy Spirit (the Comforter) to empower believers, &nbsp;to give understanding of scripture, and to bring scripture to memory (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+14%3A26&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 14:26<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+15%3A26&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">15:26<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+16%3A7&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">16:7<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+1%3A+4-9&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Acts 1: 4-9<\/a>).&nbsp; One must be born of water and of the Spirit to see the Kingdom of God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+3%3A5-8&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 3:5-8<\/a>). Therefore, &nbsp;at salvation, the Holy Spirit permanently indwells every believer who receives Jesus Christ to bring them into the Family of God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+14%3A16-17&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 14:16-17<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+8%3A9-11&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 8:9-11<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Cor+12%3A13&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1 Corinthians 12:13<\/a>).&nbsp; The Spirit indwells born again believers to glorify God by convicting them of sin, empowering them for service, and equipping them with spiritual gifts (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Acts+13%3A1-2&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Acts 13:1-2<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+15%3A13&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 15:13<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Cor+12%3A1-11&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1 Corinthians 12:1-11<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Cor+3%3A6&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2 Corinthians 3:6<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=John+16%3A7-14&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John 16:7-14<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Baptism: the first act of obedience<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Full immersion water baptism is one of the ordinances given to the church by Jesus. &nbsp;It is the first act of obedience after a person receives the saving grace of Jesus. &nbsp;It is an outward testimony of an inner change&#8211;the salvation of the soul through the blood of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. &nbsp;Baptism is a public declaration of a saved person joining the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit and formally initiates a life of discipleship. &nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mat+28%3A19&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Matthew 28:19<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Rom+6%3A1-4&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Romans 6:1-4<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Cor+12%3A13&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1 Corinthians 12:13<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Col+2%3A12&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colossians 2:12<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+Pet+3&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1 Peter 3<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Lord&#8217;s Supper, a.k.a. Communion<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Also known as communion, the Lord&#8217;s supper is one of two ordinances (the other is baptism) given by Jesus to the Church. &nbsp;It is a public memorial of the Lord&#8217;s death, burial and resurrection and was instituted on the night before His crucifixion (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+22%3A14-23&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Luke 22:14-23<\/a>). We believe scripture teaches closed communion (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+22%3A11-13&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Luke 22:11-13<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Mark+14%3A12-18&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mark 14:12-18<\/a>). Because the Lord observed the Last Supper with his 12 disciples only and not all Christians in the city, we believe that only the membership of the local church body should partake of the Lord\u2019s Supper when it is observed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Marriage is a lifelong union and covenant between one man and one woman before God (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Gen+2%3A24&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genesis 2:24<\/a>).&nbsp; Marriage is given by God to reflect Christ and the Church (His Bride) (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Eph+5%3A22-33&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ephesians 5:22-33<\/a>).&nbsp; The husband and wife are equal partners with different roles and responsibilities.&nbsp; The husband is called by God to lead the family and love His wife as Christ loves the church (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Eph+5%3A23-29&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ephesians 5:23-29<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Col+3%3A19&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colossians 3:19<\/a>). The wife is called to love and submit to her husband under the Lord (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1Pet+3%3A1-4&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1 Peter 3:1-4<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Col+3%3A16-25&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Colossians 3:16-25<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Eph+5%3A21-33&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ephesians 5:21-33<\/a>). As with all sin, it should be repented of and will be forgiven (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=1+John+1%3A9&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1 John 1:9<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Church Assembly: It&#8217;s more than just going to church<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The church is told in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+10%3A24-27&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hebrews 10:24-27<\/a> to not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together but to encourage one another.&nbsp; The corporate assembling of the church body is for worship, teaching, encouragement, support, praying in one accord, accountability to one another and to God and to minister together that God be glorified.&nbsp; The local church body is to be enacting the rules of heaven in their community by being the body of Christ in action (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew+16%3A15-19&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Matthew 16:15-19<\/a>;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew++18%3A15-20&amp;version=KJV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> 18:15-20<\/a>;
