God is not done with us. In Psalm 24- The world is His and he does as he pleases. God is in full control to do what he wants. Do you know what he wants to do? He wants to be our Shepherd. Having children is great. Having children that wants a relationship with you is wonderful! That’s what God wants. The most wonderful thing is when they love you and want a relationship with you. They want a relationship not just for your stuff or what they can get from you, but genuinely because they love you. Lots of Pressure was originally this title. Look at Proverbs 17:6 – The glory of children is to their fathers. Dads- to who much is given, much is required. Satan has attacked our nation. Many homes now do not have a father. The Bible tells us that it takes Dad and Mom to raise the children. The world tells us it takes a village. The Bible tells us back in Genesis that God put man and woman together. The 1st thing that God tells Man is to Love our wives like Christ loves the Church. The 1st kind of love a child sees is love between their daddy and mama. Job 3:25-26 Children learn how to love from us. A lot of children don’t get to see that now.

God is in control. Verse 26 – Job says he did everything he should. He was a provider (the richest man around), had time for his business and his family. Every morning he would rise early and pray for his children. He taught his 7 sons to be examples of men for his daughters. He did his part. God brags about Job. He says Job was a perfect man. That’s high praise. Job was perfect as a father and a man in God’s eyes. When a man becomes a dad – you become a protector and provider. You’re willing to do what it takes. If you’re a godly dad you’ll choose your children over hobbies and all else. Don’t be scared – God is in control. Men – we not only have to love our wives like Christ loves the church and labor 6 days. Being a dad is a lot of pressure. The things that are in control we are to do it. The things that are not in our control are to leave with God. That’s where we find Job in our text. He is heartbroken. Something happened that was beyond his control. In one day – we find in chapter 1 – what they describe is fire from God. Something going on that Job doesn’t know about. Satan made it look like a great fire from God came in and destroyed everything of his. There was thieves, a fire and a tornado. Job was doing all he could and this happened. He didn’t give up. He didn’t sin against God. Job didn’t want any of this to happen to his family. Dads- God is not asking you to deal with things that are not in your control. You can provide them with a Godly home and Godly example. Be careful how we build our relationship with our children. We must live what we preach. Spiritually Job was a perfect man. He was upright. He had a fear of God – he wanted to please him. So when evil come around- Job turned it off. Not only in himself but also in his home. He made it in his heart that he would not be tempted to sin against God and taught his children that also. Job took control and put God in control of his life. If you choose God, you choose not to sin. You cant serve 2 masters. Satan is the master of sin. Job didn’t let his business and providing for his family come before his family. Verse 5 – He never was too busy to intercede for his family. He got up early in the morning and made sure they were on track. Men – you need to let your children know that they are the most important thing in your life. Job was blessed – he was wealthy physically, spiritually and family. Verse 4 – So you see a family here who is united. Job is not only living Christlike but brought his whole family up that way. Satan wanted to get rid of Jobs children as well. They were living Christlike. Job had raised them right.

We are to work hard and let God provide the increase. Stay upright and all will be alright between you and God and you and your family. Job 1 – He said I was born naked and will return naked. He knows he can’t take worldly items into heaven. The Lord gave and the Lord took away. Job sinned Not. In all that was going on – disease, fire, theft, murder – in all that was destroyed around him, he sinned not. He trusted the Lord. 2 John.

God gave me this message not because you need this but to remind you and encourage you through all the pressure. You are under a lot of pressure to be Dad – but God gave us Job to show us that you can handle it. He will take care of everything else that is out of your control.

Scriptures Referenced:

Job 3, 3:25-26 , 1:21-22, 1:1-10

Psalm 24

Proverbs 17:6

Genesis

2 John

Pressures of Being a Biblical Father Happy Father’s Day!
