The Sermon today was about our “building” of our spiritual well being. Being saved is a great foundation of our spiritual building. We must not “cut corners” when building upon the foundation. We are to be a building and show the world how to live by the Word of God.

Mr. Randy spoke of Paul today. Paul was a wise master builder. For a wise master builder, it wasn’t about quantity but quality of his work. Starting in Chapter 3, Verse 9- Corinth was a wealthy city and was beautiful. The city was beautiful but also full of sin. Paul was there 1 year and 6 months. After Paul left, trouble arose within the church. The people started drifting away from God. The spirit produces a unity in the body. The commission is to teach people what God has told them to do. No where in the Bible does it say – if you are unworthy then don’t strive for things. The people were spiritually discerned. They were saved but they weren’t understanding the Word. They were cutting corners. Cutting corners was never preached. 9- Paul says we are to work together. He says pray and he’ll give you wisdom and knowledge. God saved us to work with him. His work is the souls of man. It’s an honor to be put in that place. Ch.6:19-20 – If any of you want to know how you are the body of Christ, he’s talking about this now. You are God’s building. David only wanted to give God the Best. They didn’t do things the easy way – but the right way. 10 – Paul says his title Wise Master Builder was the title given to him by God. Paul had to understand blue prints, so that Paul understood how it applies. The church was building a skyscraper. The church was building it to glorify God. Which is what the church is for- to glorify God. Preachers come and go, but Jesus stays the same. Paul was to have proven this by his own house. A good house has a lot of work that goes into it and costly to upkeep. Most of us today are trying to cut corners when it comes to building our house. 11 – Paul is warning them – be careful how you build upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. We’re not drawing people in. People should be able to look at our house and be able to tell that the spirit of Christ lives there and want to find out more. Paul says – if any mans work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss. See to Paul – Heaven was Jesus. It was more than having no diseases and not having work to go to. When your laying storing your treasures in heaven – be sure to tell everyone about Jesus. Don’t just focus on yourself. Yes, its a great thing to go to heaven. But don’t you hope to see your children, spouse, and neighbors there as well? Paul wasn’t Just saved. He didn’t just have a foundation. He lived by the Word of Christ. It is every mans responsibility to build upon your foundation. It makes a difference to God. God gives us more than grace. Grace is not a license to not follow his Word. 12 – Don’t spend a lot on the house if the foundation is wrong. God says we are to be saved and baptized. God wants our lives to be like Pauls. Understand folks, that how you build your house affects those around you, including your children. 2 Peter 5-7 – Peter says add to your building. Add virtue and so on. If we have a leak in our spiritual house, (it only leaks when its raining) then when it matters most when you need protection. I’ve noticed that when the Word of God gets too personal, we tend to tune it out. For salvation, He is the foundation. Are you easily led astray?
