Video starts out with Ms. Laura Keiss praying for our nation. Ms. Phyllis Blake shared a special poem by her oldest great-grand daughter (8 years old). (Matthew 5:8) Pastor Randy Keiss then starts his sermon. Starts off talking about a Leap of Faith. He delivers message regarding the staying at home and other churches closing their doors. We will remain open. We will not be judgemental towards anyone who doesnt want to chance coming to church at this time. After much prayer and study – God answered – Be Faithful. Before we take the word of man, we will take the Word of God first. Let’s keep on assembling together, even if its only a few. Some may say it is too risky to have church, I’m going to say it’s even riskier not too. Thats just me. I am thankful to have you here this morning.
Rough Transcription: Jesus is getting his ministry started. John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee preaching the gospel. Repent ye. Jesus picked up where John left off. Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repent the and believe the gospel. And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region. Because there was a man with an unclean spirit and Jesus rebuked him. The man cried out in the synagogue. This man needed something and he found it. Jesus was in they synagogue. And forthwith they went into the house of Simon. Simons wife’s mother laid sick with fever. Jesus lifted her up. *Notice in these passages how personal Jesus is. Notice how Jesus reaches out and touches each one. He bids us to him. Think of that, sin is worse than any disease and God says “come unto me and Ill give you rest” How wonderful that thought it. He doesn’t tell us to stand back. He tells us to come. She had fever, Jesus touches her, lifts her up and immediately the fever left her. That evening they brought to him many that were sick with diseases and many had devils. He healed many diseases and cost out many devils. *Notice here – Many diseases. could some of them been contagious? yes! They are all gathered at the House of Simon and Jesus is healing them. Simon and David told Jesus “All Men seek thee” and Jesus said – Let us Go – I Came to Preach. He had a ministry – he could have stayed there but he kept on the move. Jesus says “Let us go to the next town so that I can preach” There is no sickness that you get that God can’t heal. Jesus’ ministry was to preach the Gospel. Jesus says – I must be about my fathers business. We have that calling. Doesn’t matter what is going on in the world- we have that calling. We see that Simons mother in law didn’t ask for anything – he just healed it. God cares about your physical well being and your spiritual being. There were many that were healed physically that didn’t believe. He gave the church the ability to heal through the prayer of faith. Like Jesus, the church is to have a heart for the souls of man first and the health of man second. Lately our prayer request list has been mostly for health and not near enough for lost souls or for those who are backsliding. We are more concerned for the sick than the ones who are lost. We have lost our priority. So they moved to the next town and Jesus healed and cast out many devils. A leper came to him and said – I believe you can make me whole. So this man comes to Jesus and is in the advanced stages of leprosy. Leprosy was considered to be more than just a disease but was considered to be the person unclean. Remember Job – they looked at Job and told him he was unclean and needed to repent. There was nothing that Satan could do to Job because God had a hedge upon him. Life is in the hands of God. Satan can not do anything to me unless God allows it. If God allows it then he has a purpose for it. So we see here – this leper came and this man knew leprosy was seen as being unclean – full of Satan. He needed someone to cast out the devil and heal him. He had heard of Jesus and knew he could do that. This man wanted more than just a physical healing. He says -I know that you can do it, but I do not know if you will. He doesn’t just ask for healing, he asks for cleansing. Remember the others had only asked for healing. The 9 didn’t come back last time but one did after they were cured of leprosy. This man didn’t feel worthy of Jesus’ grace. This man is humbled. Jesus touched him and said – I will. Love moved Jesus. Love moved God – John 3:16. Jesus had compassion on this man. Jesus didn’t stay away from this man and his disease. Right now, the government is telling us to stay away. No doubt that this is a test, the church is supposed to be where people can find love and help people. The church in the past has opened their doors and brought the diseased in during pandemics to heal them. When people are separated they lose their bond. That’s what Satan wants with the church. As I said this man was not accepted by society but was accepted by Jesus. Praise God, Jesus reached out. Jesus reaches out and touches the unclean man before he heals him. What would we do? Would we condemn him for his disease? Or preach to him? This is the example Jesus has left us with to spread the word – Revelations says in the last days the church will be lukewarm. Lets remember this church- without faith, it is impossible to please God. That’s his words, not mine. Without the preaching of the gospel the lost can’t be saved.
