Scripture Referenced:
God is leading us, its up to us to follow
Satan is now openly setting traps for us. People are still falling into them. Think of a live trap – if the bait (sin) is enticing enough, the animal will go into the trap even if they see it. This “New Normal” (social distancing and masks) is to get people to stop showing love and conviction. I long for us to get back to loving like Jesus. Jesus doesn’t social distance. There are some things God protects us from, but some things God protects us through.
Verses 14-15-16 He starts and ends with Listen to Me! God wants us to understand. God is more concerned with your spiritual health. Physical health is only temporary. Where you are spiritually affects those around you. You’ll either help them or hinder them by being a stumbling block. No one wants to be a stumbling block. Listen church – they don’t want us to come together, they want us to line up like sheep and follow them and the experts – not Jesus. Verses 17-23- They didn’t understand it. As we backup you will see that they were worried about washing hands. There was a certain lwngthy ceremonial way of washing ones hands and if you didn’t do it that way then you were “unclean”. Sounds a little familiar doesn’t it. In verse 1 – they found fault with all who did not wash their hands. Now this is where most people say – The Bible says we are to obey the law. The Bible does say – Obey the Laws of the Land until it affects your relationship with God. Everywhere you see is bad things going on. The devil wants you to live in fear. Its easier to separate you from God that way. Church we should be trying to not spread the fear. We live by faith. Verse 4 – When they went and bought something, they went directly home to clean it. Sound familiar? Folks it doesn’t matter how much you take care not to bring sin into the house if there is already sin inside. The TV and YouTube bring in sin. I’m not saying get rid of your tvs – just don’t condone sin. Sin will destroys you and it spreads. Only way to not spread sin is to Not Do It. Now I don’t want any of you sick, but I don’t want you to go to Hell either. As a church, we need to focus on what defiles us spiritually not physically sick. As we go back to the scripture – they didn’t have enough fear and control over the people so they added on more things to try and achieve this Verse 6 – See there’s one thing to say ‘we love people’, but as a Christian you also have to show it. We might really say we are concerned about them but really we are concerned about us. Verse 7 – It is in vain. Hypocrite. When people come to a church, they expect to feel the love for God. They expect to see love towards Christ and each other. Has the coronavirus made us so scared to show love to one another. To show affection. It has made us defile ourselves with fear.
